The Changing Climate.

This year has been extremely challenging for gardeners. and in the rose garden we have struggled to keep some plants alive in the exceptionally high temperatures that we experienced during the Summer.  The heat and drought conditions have led us to re-evaluate  what we grow in the planting beds moving forward.  It is not realistic to expect to be watering the plants regularly during lengthy dry spells, particularly if hosepipe bans are introduced.  With this in mind, a group of our volunteers gathered and discussed which plants we could use to replace less drought tolerant ones.  We compiled a list to refer to when selecting new plants to buy.
